ISLAMABAD: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued an advisory before the anticipated rain, gusty winds, and thunderstorms in various regions of the country from June 23 to 26.
NDMA recommended precautionary measures as a new wave of rain, gusty winds, and thunderstorms is expected to hit Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during this time.
It is a threat to weak trees, mud houses, and haphazardly made buildings, especially in the above-cited areas.
The NDMA has recommended that people leave their vehicles in sheltered or secure locations. It also warned people that in case of storms and gusty winds, poor visibility can cause accidents and asked them to be careful.
The NDMA has instructed all the concerned institutions to make necessary arrangements to deal with any potential emergency.
In this regard, the public is also advised to remain updated regarding weather alerts and possible hazards through the Pak NDMA Disaster Alert App.
