ISLAMABAD: The Meteorological Department has predicted rain in most parts of the country, including the federal capital, which is likely to provide relief to the citizens suffering from the heat.
According to the Meteorological Department, it is expected to rain in Islamabad, the Potohar region, Murree and Galiyat today. In the northern areas, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir, rain has also been forecast at various places.
The districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kalam, Shangla, Buner, Kohistan, Malakand, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Balakot and Haripur are also expected to remain cloudy and rain.
According to the report, rain is expected at a few places in Peshawar, Mardan, Nowshera, Bajaur, Mohmand, Swabi and Charsadda, while Kohat, Karak, Khyber, Hangu, Kurram, Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan are also expected to receive rain.
Rain and clouds are likely to appear in the plains of Punjab, including Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Attock, Chakwal, Tala Gang, Sargodha, Mianwali, Khushab, Faisalabad, Lahore, Kasur, Okara and Bahawalnagar.
Dusty winds are expected in the areas of Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Jhang, Layyah and Bhakkar in southern Punjab. On the other hand, the weather will remain dry and hot in most districts of Balochistan and Sindh.
On the other hand, in the Donga Bonga area of Bahawalnagar district of Punjab, the roof of a house collapsed due to heavy rain and strong winds, injuring 7 members of the same family.
According to rescue officials, the accident occurred when heavy rain and wind were continuing in the area. All the people in the room were buried under the debris when the roof suddenly collapsed.
