LAHORE: The Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has forecast rain in most districts of Punjab in the next 2 days.
According to a PDMA spokesperson, rain is expected in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Faisalabad, Khushab and Sargodha, while rain is likely in Sahiwal, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Nankana Sahib, Chiniot and surrounding areas.
Apart from this, rain is also likely in Chiniot, Okara, Kasur, Noorpur Thal, Bhakkar, Mianwali, Layyah, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh, Kot Addu, Rahim Yar Khan and Rajanpur.
According to DG PDMA Umar Javed, in view of the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, an alert has been issued to the commissioners and deputy commissioners across the province, the flow of rivers and streams will increase due to rains.
He directed that to protect oneself from lightning, one should stay in safe places, never go under open places during lightning, stay in safe places in view of dust and strong winds, tourists should take precautionary measures while traveling to the northern areas.
