ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicted rain along with windstorms in northwest Balochistan and northern parts of the country on January 18, 2025.
Met Office forecasted snowfall in hilly areas of northern Pakistan including Murree and Balochistan as a westerly wave is likely to approach western parts of the country on Saturday.
Under the influence of this weather system, PMD said “moderate rain-windstorm (snowfall over hills) is expected in Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Pishin, Qilla Abdullah, Qilla Saifullah, Chagi, Noushki, Kalat, Barkhan, Khuzdar, Harnai, Zhob, Musakhel, Kharan, Kech, Panjgur and Gwadar from January 18 to 20, 20205, with occasional gaps.
The met department predicted Moderate rain-windstorms and snowfall over hills in Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir from January 18 to 21 with occasional gaps.
“Moderate rain-windstorm (snowfall over hills) is expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Kohistan, Manshera, Abbottabad, Haripur, Bunner, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, Waziristan, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Karak and Kohat from January 18 to 21.”
Met Office also predicted a light rain-windstorm in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, and Chakwal on January 18 (evening/night) and January 19.
