Rain with Thunderstorm Forecast in Northern Areas of Pakistan Until March 11

Rain with thunderstorm forecast

Rain with thunderstorm forecast has been issued for several northern areas of Pakistan starting today. The Pakistan Meteorological Department says this weather system may continue until March 11.

Officials said different upper regions are likely to receive rain accompanied by thunder and lightning. Some areas may also experience strong winds during the showers.

According to the weather department, rain with thunderstorm forecast includes districts such as Chitral, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Mansehra, and Abbottabad. Residents in these areas may see scattered rainfall during the coming days.

The forecast also mentions possible rain and thunderstorms in parts of Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir. Weather conditions may vary from place to place, but light to moderate showers are expected.

Islamabad, the Potohar region, Murree, and Galiyat are also likely to receive rainfall starting today. The rain with thunderstorm forecast suggests cloudy conditions and occasional showers in these areas.

Meanwhile, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has warned that rainfall may continue in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, and Buner until March 12.

Experts say the long dry spell has raised concerns about water shortages in reservoirs. There are also fears that wheat crops in rain-fed areas could be affected if dry conditions continue.

However, most plain districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are expected to remain mostly dry. Temperatures in these areas may gradually increase during the coming days.
