LAHORE: There is a possibility of a significant change in the weather conditions across Punjab, where strong winds, gales and rain have been predicted in most districts from today to June 5.

According to the Meteorological Department, a new wave of westerly winds is entering the upper regions of the country today, due to the effects of which rain is expected in various cities of Punjab. Heavy rain and hail may also occur in some places.

The Meteorological Department says that the intensity of the heat is likely to decrease due to rains, however, in some areas, strong winds and thundershowers may affect normal life.

On the other hand, in the mountainous areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, there is a fear of glacial lakes bursting due to intense heat and local flooding.

In view of the possible dangers, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued an alert for Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan and Mansehra and directed the relevant institutions to ensure preventive measures.
