ISLAMABAD: The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of severe cold, rain and snowfall.
Today, the weather is likely to be cold and dry in most parts of the country, the northern areas will be partly cloudy today, light rain and snowfall are expected at a few places in Gilgit-Baltistan.

During this time, rain is likely in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Kohistan and Mansehra. Rain and snowfall has been predicted in Abbottabad, Buner and Battagram during December 29 to 31.
Rain is likely in Gilgit, Skardu, Diamer, Astore, Ghizer, Hunza, Nagar, Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Bagh, Quetta, Ziarat, Kalat, Zhob and Mastung during January 30 to 2.
