Weather update: PMD issues severe cold, rain and snowfall alert across country

ISLAMABAD: The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of severe cold, rain and snowfall.

Today, the weather is likely to be cold and dry in most parts of the country, the northern areas will be partly cloudy today, light rain and snowfall are expected at a few places in Gilgit-Baltistan.

According to the Meteorological Department, the weather is likely to be cold and partly cloudy in Islamabad and its surrounding areas, the weather is expected to be cold in most districts of Balochistan. The weather is likely to be cold and dry in most districts of Sindh.

The weather is likely to be cold and partly cloudy in most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, severe cold is likely in the upper districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, light rain and snowfall are likely in Kohistan, Battagram, Chitral and its surrounding areas.
According to the Meteorological Department, westerly winds will enter the upper parts of the country tomorrow evening. Rain and snowfall are expected in different areas due to westerly winds next week. The intensity of cold is likely to increase in the country during December 30 and 31.

Rain is likely to continue in different parts of the country from December 31 to January 2. Rain and snowfall are expected in Murree, Galiyat and surrounding areas during December 29 to 31. During this time, rain is likely in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Kohistan and Mansehra. Rain and snowfall has been predicted in Abbottabad, Buner and Battagram during December 29 to 31.

Rain is likely in Gilgit, Skardu, Diamer, Astore, Ghizer, Hunza, Nagar, Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Bagh, Quetta, Ziarat, Kalat, Zhob and Mastung during January 30 to 2.
