Weather update: Rain, thunderstorm likely to hit several areas in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: According to the latest detailed report issued by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), weak humid winds are entering the southern parts of the country from the Arabian Sea.

On the other hand, there is high pressure in the upper atmosphere, which is likely to persist for the next 24 hours. Under this weather system, heat will prevail in most parts of the country; however, strong winds, gusty winds, and thunderstorms are expected in several areas, including Murree, Galiyat, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan.

June 01, 2026: The weather is likely to be hot and dry in most parts of the country, while it is likely to be extremely hot in the southern districts.

However, in the evening or night hours, South Punjab, Murree, Galiyat, Jhelum, Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur, Khanpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Taunsa, Rajanpur, and North-East Balochistan (Naseerabad, Kohlu, Barkhan, Musakhel, Khuzdar and surrounding areas) may experience partly cloudy weather with isolated rain accompanied by strong winds and thundershowers.

02 June 2026: The weather is likely to be hot and dry in most areas, while Balochistan and Sindh are likely to remain extremely hot. However, in the evening or night, partly cloudy weather with strong winds and thundershowers are expected at a few places in South Punjab, Murree, Galiat, Sargodha, Attock, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Narowal, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Khanpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, North-East Balochistan (Naseerabad, Kohlu, Barkhan, Khuzdar and surrounding areas), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Kohistan, Battagram, Abbottabad, Kalam, Swat, Malakand, Karak, Bannu, Kohat, Momand, Waziristan and surrounding areas) and Kashmir.

03 June 2026: The weather is likely to remain hot and dry in most parts of the country. However, scattered showers with gusty winds and thundershowers are expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, North-East Balochistan, and Punjab.

June 04, 2026: Thunderstorms and rain with gusty winds are expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir, Potohar region, upper and central Punjab, and north-eastern Balochistan, while the weather will remain hot and dry in other parts of the country.

June 05, 2026: The weather is likely to remain hot and dry in most parts; however, thunderstorms and rain with gusty winds are expected in upper and central Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir, and the Potohar region.

June 06, 2026: The weather will remain hot and dry in most parts of the country; however, thunderstorms and rain with gusty winds are expected at a few places in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir, eastern Punjab, and the Potohar region.

June 07, 2026: The weather is likely to remain hot and dry in most parts; however, thunderstorms and rain with gusty winds are expected at a few places in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, and Kashmir.

The Meteorological Department has instructed citizens of hot districts to avoid unnecessary exposure to the sun, while travelers and local populations, especially in the upper regions, have been advised to be cautious during storms and gusts.
