7.0-magnitude earthquake strikes Taiwan, causes panic

Strong earthquake tremors felt across Punjab

ISLAMABAD: A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 7.0 was recorded in Taiwan. The epicenter of the earthquake was located at a depth of about 73 kilometers, causing panic among local residents.

The earthquake tremors were felt in several cities and rural areas. According to initial reports, some buildings were partially damaged, while roads and infrastructure were also reported to be affected. Local authorities have immediately alerted rescue and emergency teams to launch relief operations in the affected areas.

Immediately after the earthquake, authorities have advised the public to stay indoors and gather in open areas. Schools and offices have been ordered to close as usual or take precautionary measures to avoid any human loss.

According to local media, the earthquake tremors were felt strongly in some areas where the buildings are of an ancient nature and there are high risks of danger. Authorities have said after a preliminary assessment that it is necessary to be prepared for all possible dangers given the current situation.

After the earthquake, locals have started using emergency kits as needed to protect their loved ones. The local administration has requested the citizens not to trust rumors and only act on information provided by official sources.

Seismologists have said that this natural disaster may be temporary, but aftershocks can be potentially dangerous, so safety measures are mandatory in all residential areas.

The government and local administration are conducting a thorough assessment of the damage and emergency relief centers are being set up for the victims to provide all possible help.
