TEHRAN: China and the United States have come face to face over the US seizure of an Iranian-flagged ship in the Gulf of Oman.
China has denied any involvement in the seizure of a ship by the US Navy, calling it baseless speculation.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Gao Jiaqin said during a press briefing that the ship seized by the US is a foreign container ship and has no connection to China.
Earlier, former UN Ambassador to the US Nikki Haley had claimed that the Iranian-flagged ship intercepted in the US operation had departed from China and was transporting chemical materials for missiles.
