DUBAI: It has been decided to hold grand celebrations on the occasion of the National Day of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which is also likely to have a long weekend.
Preparations for the 54th National Day of the United Arab Emirates on December 2 this year are in full swing. This day commemorates the unification and establishment of the country’s 7 emirates.
The government has announced that Tuesday and Wednesday, December 2 and 3, will be public holidays, but due to the weekend, the public is likely to get a four-day long weekend. Under the country’s laws, these four-day holidays can be extended to five days.
This year’s celebrations will begin with a grand ceremony in which the Emirati leadership will participate, although the venue has not been officially announced yet, but the ceremony will be held on December 2 at an important cultural and national venue.
