MUMBAI: India has announced the provision of free e-tourist visas to Russian citizens.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi made this announcement during the India-Russia annual summit held in New Delhi. Russian President Vladimir Putin also attended the meeting.
While holding a joint press conference, the Indian Prime Minister announced that he would soon introduce a 30-day free e-tourist visa and a 30-day group tourist visa for Russian citizens.
The meeting between the Indian Prime Minister and the Russian President also discussed increasing cooperation in the defense and energy sectors. India expressed interest in acquiring more S-400 missile systems from Russia.
India also wants to upgrade its Russian-made Su-30 fighter jets. India also wants to increase bilateral trade volume from $68 billion to $100 billion by 2030.
