NEW DELHI: India’s Defense Acquisition Council has approved defense projects worth about $ 25 billion.
According to foreign news agency Reuters, the projects that have been approved include the purchase of medium transport aircraft, Russian-made S-400 air defense systems and unmanned attack aircraft.
According to the Indian government, the Defense Acquisition Council approved the purchase of air defense tracked systems, armor-piercing single-tank ammunition, high-capacity radio relay systems, Dhanush gun systems and runway independent aerial surveillance systems for the Indian Army.
Proposals for the purchase of medium transport aircraft, long-range S-400 surface-to-air missile systems, unmanned attack aircraft and engine overhaul of Su-30 aircraft for the Indian Air Force were approved.
In addition, the purchase of heavy-duty air cushion vehicles for the Indian Coast Guard has also been approved.
