Indian driver fined for not wearing helmet

UTTAR PRADESH: A unique incident in India where the police issued a challan to a citizen for not wearing a helmet while driving. According to Indian media, a man was seen wearing a full-face helmet while driving his vehicle in the Agra district of the state of Uttar Pradesh.

When the man was asked why he was wearing a helmet while driving, he said that the move was due to an unusual police challenge. According to Indian media, the citizen was identified as Gulshan, a school teacher.

Gulshan told Indian media that on November 26, I was issued a challan of 1,100 Indian rupees for not wearing a helmet while driving my car.

He explained to the traffic police officers that he was wearing a seat belt, but the police fined him for not wearing a helmet.

Gulshan said the incident shocked him, and he has since been following this “strange rule” to avoid further trouble. He now wears a helmet every time he drives.

However, police authorities have not yet issued any official statement on the matter.
