TEHRAN: Iran has issued a NOTAM announcing live-fire exercises in the airspace near the Strait of Hormuz, a key sea passage in the Persian Gulf.
The move comes at a time when US military assets have reached the Middle East, further increasing tensions in the region.
According to Iran’s notice, these military exercises will be conducted from January 27 to 29 within a radius of five nautical miles, in the airspace from ground level to 25,000 feet.
During this time, the relevant airspace has been declared dangerous, and flights will be restricted.
The Strait of Hormuz is a very important sea route for global trade, through which millions of barrels of oil are transported daily.
Any disruption could shake international energy markets and increase geopolitical tensions.
The air warning comes amid an increase in US military activity, designed to demonstrate rapid deployment and support capabilities.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps has made it clear that if American ships enter Iranian territorial waters, they will be attacked. The Revolutionary Guards’ statement said that the decision of the war will not be made by statements but on the field. Iranian officials have also said that the response to any attack will be immediate and comprehensive.
