TEL AVIV: The Israeli army has launched a ground operation in southern Lebanon.
In a statement released on social media site X, the Israeli army said that its 91st Brigade has launched a ground operation in southern Lebanon aimed at further expanding the ‘Forward Defense Zone’ near the border.
According to the Israeli army, the operation, which was launched in recent days, aims to destroy Hezbollah’s infrastructure, eliminate threats and provide additional security for civilians living in Israeli border areas.
On the other hand, the Lebanese Ministry of Health says that at least 850 people have been killed and more than 2,000 injured in Israeli attacks since February 28.
