Mojtaba Khamenei says Persian Gulf Future ‘Without US Presence’

Mojtaba Khamenei says Persian Gulf Future ‘Without US Presence’

TEHRAN:  Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has said the future of the Persian Gulf will be “bright” without the presence of the United States, stressing that regional countries share a common destiny and should rely on one another for stability.

In a statement carried by state media and published by Islamic Republic News Agency on the occasion of National Persian Gulf Day, Khamenei said a new chapter is emerging in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz following recent regional tensions.

He added that after what he described as the failure of US plans in the region, the Persian Gulf would move towards development, peace, and prosperity without foreign interference.

Khamenei blamed the military presence of the United States for instability in the region, saying that American bases in Gulf countries have contributed to insecurity rather than stability. He also criticized US and Israeli actions, stating that recent developments have further heightened tensions.

The Iranian leader emphasized that there is no place for foreign elements in the region and called for closer cooperation between Tehran and its Gulf neighbors.

He further stated that Iran would strongly defend its nuclear and missile capabilities, describing them as national assets that the country would protect in the same way it safeguards its territorial integrity.
