MUSCAT: Three Indian nationals were killed and 20 injured in Iranian attacks near Oman in retaliation for the US and Israeli attacks.
According to Indian media reports, the Marshall Islands-flagged ship MKD Vium was attacked by a drone 52 nautical miles off the coast of Muscat. Two commercial ships were attacked by Iran in Omani waters, in which three Indian nationals were killed.
The report said that the Indian embassy in Oman confirmed the death of one Indian national on board MKD Vium, while two more Indian nationals who were killed were part of the crew of the Palau-flagged oil tanker Skylight.
It may be recalled that the Skylight was targeted by Iranian forces in Omani waters over the weekend.
It should be noted that after the American and Israeli attacks on Tehran, Iran targeted American air bases in the Gulf countries, in which 4 American soldiers have also been confirmed by American authorities.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards have claimed to have targeted at least 500 Israeli and American military and strategic sites during the recent war.
Reports of Iranian missile and drone attacks have also emerged in Gulf countries where American forces are deployed, including the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Oman.
