ISLAMABAD: A strong earthquake in Turkey damaged several buildings, but there were no immediate reports of casualties.
According to reports, the magnitude of the earthquake in the western part of Turkey was recorded as 6.1, with its epicenter in the town of Sundargi in Balıkesir province, while the depth was recorded as 6 kilometers.
According to reports, the tremors of the earthquake were felt in many cities including Istanbul, Bursa, Manisa and Izmir, and several buildings were damaged in Sundargi. The earthquake spread severe panic and citizens came out of their homes in fear.
It should be remembered that in August, a 6.1 magnitude earthquake had struck the same area, resulting in one person being killed and dozens injured.
