Turkiye accepts invitation to attend Trump's 'Board of Peace'

ANKARA: Turkiye has also accepted US President Donald Trump’s invitation to participate in the ‘Board of Peace’.

According to a foreign news agency, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will represent Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the ‘Board of Peace’.

President Trump invited President Erdogan to join the board along with other world leaders.

The Turkish president confirmed to reporters in parliament that Hakan Fidan will join the board.

The official ceremony of the ‘Board of Peace’ chaired by President Trump, will be held on Thursday on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland.

It was also reported earlier that Hakan Fidan is also a member of a separate ‘Gaza Executive Board’, which includes US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, President Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner.

According to the Turkish Foreign Ministry, Hakan Fidan will attend the signing ceremony on Thursday and will represent Turkey at the highest level in the ‘Board of Peace’.

It should be noted that Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Azerbaijan, Israel, Morocco and Egypt have also accepted the invitation to join the ‘Board of Peace’.

According to the US President’s special representative, Steve Witkoff, 20 to 25 world leaders have joined the Board of Peace so far.
