DUBAI: The UAE Ministry of Education has announced that the winter holidays for students in schools across the country will begin on December 8, 2025, and will continue until January 4, 2026.
During this period, the holidays for teaching and administrative staff will begin a week later, on December 15.
According to the approved academic calendar for 2025-26, make-up exams will be held from December 8 to 12, which will be held during the students’ holidays, while teachers will participate in the third stage of professional training during the same period.
According to the announcement, the second semester will begin on January 5, 2026. The results of the first semester will be examined and released between January 7 and 9.
The academic year will consist of a total of three semesters: the first semester will consist of 14 weeks and will consist of 67 teaching days, the second semester will consist of 9 weeks and 47 teaching days, while the third semester will consist of 13 weeks and 64 teaching days, including 5 public holidays.
In total, the 2025-26 academic year will consist of approximately 178 teaching days and will not end before June 26, 2026.
The ministry says the schedule aims to provide students and teachers with adequate time for exams, training, and holidays, while maintaining the continuity of the full academic year.
