DUBAI: The Ministry of Health and Prevention in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has mandated influenza vaccination for all travelers embarking on Umrah and Hajj journeys to Saudi Arabia.

Effective from March 26, travelers are required to provide proof of influenza vaccination to safeguard the health and well-being of pilgrims, their families, and the wider community.

It is recommended that travelers receive the vaccine at least ten days before their journey for optimal effectiveness and immunity. Individuals with chronic conditions are advised to consult a physician before traveling and ensure they have an adequate supply of medications.

Those who have received the influenza vaccine within the past year are exempt from obtaining a new vaccination and can acquire vaccination certificates through the Al Hosn app for verification at travel checkpoints.
