KABUL: The United Nations agency UNICEF has warned that if the Taliban government continues to restrict girls’ education and women’s employment, Afghanistan will lose 25,000 female teachers by 2030.
In a new report, UNICEF said that 1 million girls have been affected by the Taliban’s restrictions so far. This number will increase to 2 million by 2030.
According to the report, Afghanistan will also lose 5,400 female health workers by 2030.
It should be noted that the Taliban has banned women from working in various government institutions since taking power in 2021.
In addition, there is a ban on girls’ education after the age of 12 in Afghanistan.
