ISLAMABAD: A journalist close to US President Donald Trump on Wednesday said that while discussions around a potential US–Iran peace agreement are ongoing, no final deal has been reached yet.
Caitlin Doornbos, who writes for the New York Post, tweeted on X that Trump has downplayed reports which indicate progress toward a breakthrough because he considers it to be “too early” for any diplomatic celebration which includes a potential trip to Islamabad.
Trump told her that peace agreement preparations and his upcoming Pakistan trip could not be discussed because they were “too far” and “too much”.
The journalist reported that Trump had previously indicated his intention to travel to Pakistan for a formal deal-signing ceremony, but current plans remain premature because negotiations have not yet reached an agreement stage.
