‘Work from home’ directive issued due to increase in pollution

'Work from home' directive issued due to increase in pollution

NEW DELHI: After air pollution in Delhi reached dangerous levels, the government has directed both government and private offices to call only 50% of the staff to the office while the rest of the employees work from home.

According to the authorities, this decision has been taken following the instructions of the Commission for Air Quality Management. This includes strict restrictions on construction activities and industrial surveillance.

Delhi’s Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that the government is implementing all the measures with full seriousness and continuous monitoring, and special emphasis is being placed on protecting the vulnerable sections.

Citizens have been asked to avoid burning garbage in the open, control dust, and report violations through the Green Delhi app.

The government says strict measures, public cooperation, and reduced office attendance are expected to reduce pollution levels in the coming days
