LAHORE: Providing motorcycles on installments has proven costly for a local resident, as traffic fines worth over Rs 2.3 million have been issued in his name.
According to a spokesperson for the Traffic Police, around 500 motorcycles are registered under the name of Sadiq Khan, and the Safe City Authority has already issued 2,071 e-challans against these vehicles.
Sadiq Khan, a resident of Garhi Shahu, Lahore, came under scrutiny when a traffic warden stopped a motorcycle bearing registration number ACL-8179 at Campus Bridge. The motorcycle, registered in his name, was found to have e-challans worth Rs 12,000.
Further investigation revealed that a total of 500 motorcycles are registered in Sadiq Khan’s name, many of which are being used by different individuals after being sold on installments. As a result, 2,071 e-challans have so far been issued against these motorcycles, causing significant financial trouble for the registered owner.
