Bank holiday announced on February 5

State Bank fined Rs 500,000 for denying paternity leave

ISLAMABAD: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will remain closed on February 5, 2025 (Wednesday) on account of Kashmir Solidarity Day.

The notification stated, “The State Bank of Pakistan will remain closed on Wednesday, February 05, 2025, being a public holiday on Kashmir Day, as declared by the Government of Pakistan.”

The closure will apply to all SBP offices and financial institutions under its jurisdiction across the country, as per the directive of the federal government.

Earlier, the federal government declared February 5 as a public holiday to observe Kashmir Day.

Every year, the nation observes a public holiday on February 5 with national zeal and zest to show solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) for their struggle for freedom from India.

On the day, conferences, demonstrations, human chains, and events related to the day are staged across the country and worldwide shedding light on the atrocities committed by Indian troops to sabotage the Kashmiri struggle for self-determination.

In connection with the day, solidarity walks will be organised across the country and Azad Kashmir. In Islamabad, a rally will be held on Constitution Avenue to show support for people in occupied Kashmir.
