WASHINGTON: The United States of America (USA) President Donald Trump has announced the re-blockade of the Strait of Hormuz following Iran’s recent strike.
In a statement on the social media platform Truth Social, he said that the USA will now be known as the Guardian of the Strait of Hormuz.
Donald Trump said that the Strait of Hormuz is open and will remain open regardless of the presence or absence of Iran; only Iranian ships and their customers will be stopped. In this capacity, we will assume the responsibility of providing security and safety in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to Donald Trump, under the requirements of justice, the US will receive a 20% compensation for every cargo passing through the Strait of Hormuz in return for this responsibility, so that all the costs incurred in protecting this sensitive maritime passage can be covered.
He added that the process of implementing this project and establishing its administrative structure is being started immediately.
