ISLAMABAD: The government has announced an increase in the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in Pakistan. As of April 1, the new rate will be Rs248.37 per kilogramme, a 54 paisa increase from the previous price.
This change will affect both residential and commercial consumers who rely on LPG for daily use.
In another development, the import price of Regasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG) increased by 4 cents per MMBTU last month, bringing the new import rate to $12.94 per MMBTU.
Meanwhile, authorities have stepped up their efforts to crack down on illegal LPG cylinder refilling operations, which pose serious safety risks. Three individuals were arrested in a covert operation on Saturday for their involvement in illegal gas refilling.
Officials have warned that unauthorized refilling of LPG cylinders not only violates safety regulations but also endangers lives.
