Kissan Ittehad appeals govt to buy maximum wheat from farmers

Wheat Policy 2026 announced: Procurement price set at Rs 3,500 per maund

MUZAFFARGARH: All Pakistan Kisan Ittehad has demanded the Punjab government to ensure timely and maximum procurement of wheat from the farmers.

In a statement issued from here, Amjad Ali Amjad, provincial coordinator of All Pakistan Kisan Ittehad, said that farmers are frustrated because there is no one to buy wheat in the market.

Apart from this, he said that it has become very difficult to save the wheat due to the recent rains.

He said that the prices of inputs have increased manifold.

He criticized the caretaker government saying that it unnecessarily imported wheat when the local wheat crop was about to hit the markets. He appealed to the government to ensure maximum procurement of crops from the farmers so that they can concentrate on the next cotton crop.
