LPG prices surge, retail rate reaches Rs350 per kg

LPG prices increase amid gas shortage

KARACHI: LPG prices have seen a significant increase in the country, and their retail price in the market has increased from Rs 320 to Rs 350 per kg.

According to Ali Haider, leader of the LPG Marketing Association, LPG was previously being sold at around Rs 250 per kg; however, in recent days, prices have increased rapidly due to supply shortages and global conditions.

He said that the supply of LPG has been affected after the ongoing tension in the region and the situation related to Iran, due to which a trend of increasing prices is being seen.

Ali Haider demanded that arrangements be made to import LPG from Russia or Oman to provide relief to the people so that the supply in the market can improve and prices can be stabilized.

It should be remembered that there was also a big increase in the prices of petrol and diesel. The government increased the price of both petrol and diesel by Rs 55 per liter, after which there is a fear of further increases in inflation in the country.
