NAB Multan freezes properties of GFS Builders

NAB Multan GFS Builders

MULTAN: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Multan has ordered the freezing of properties of GFS Builders and Developers, a company involved in a housing scheme scandal.

The decision follows an inquiry that revealed the company’s owners and developers allegedly defrauded the public by selling plot files in an illegal and unapproved housing scheme, the GFS-7 Wonders City Housing Scheme in Multan.

According to the NAB order, a copy of which is available with Daily Ausaf, the inquiry revealed that an alleged amount of Rs. 414.44 million has been defrauded from 240 claimants.

The order further stated that GFS Builders had provided a list of an additional 155 affected individuals, amounting to Rs. 118.23 million, bringing the potential total liability to approximately Rs. 533 million.

Following the inquiry, NAB has ordered the freezing of properties and bank accounts linked to the accused, including Irfan Wahid, Mansoor Wahid, and Hassan Shahzaib, under Section 12 of the National Accountability Ordinance, 1999.

The inquiry is ongoing, and NAB said that it aims to investigate the matter further to uncover the full extent of the alleged corruption.
