Pakistan’s mobile phone imports decline by 7.46% in H1 FY 2024-25

Mobile Phone Imports Surge In Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s mobile phone imports have declined by 7.46 percent in the first half of the fiscal year 2024-25 compared to the same period last year.

According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), the country imported mobile phones worth $733.425 million during July-December 2024, down from $792.581 million during the same months of 2023-24.

Pakistan’s mobile phone imports in December 2024 decreased by 7.27 percent compared to the same month last year.

Imports totaled $163.257 million, while exports were recorded at $176.063 million in December 2023.

Pakistan saw a significant increase in mobile phone imports during the fiscal year 2023-24. The value of mobile phone imports reached $1.898 billion, representing a 233% increase over the previous fiscal year 2022-23, when imports were worth $570.071 million.

During the first nine months of the fiscal year 2023-24 (July-March), the country imported mobile phones worth $1.301 billion, a significant growth of 181.26% over $462.700 million during the same period of the previous fiscal year.
