KPK government appoints vice chancellors for public universities across province

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) government has appointed vice chancellors to 16 public universities in an effort to provide leadership and academic stability at important institutions, according to media reports.

Dr. Muhammad Tahir Khalili will assume leadership at Khushal Khan Khattak University, Karak, while Professor Dr. Muhammad Ali has been named Vice Chancellor of Hazara University, Mansehra, and Dr. Zafar Iqbal will lead Gomal University, Dera Ismail Khan.

Dr. Tahir Irfan will be in charge of the Abbottabad University of Science and Technology, while Dr. Aurangzeb Khan has been appointed VC at the University of Lakki Marwat.

In the field of engineering and technology, Dr. Muhammad Siddique will be the Vice Chancellor at UET Peshawar, while Dr. Gul Muhammad Khan has been appointed to the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Mardan.

Dr. Shakibullah has been selected to lead the Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Swat, while Dr. Dawood Jan will lead the University of Agriculture, Swat.

Dr. Sardar Khan of the University of Shangla, Dr. Johar Ali of the University of Peshawar, and Dr. Jamil Ahmed of Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan, are among the other important appointments.

University Nowshera will be led by Dr. Saeed Bacha, while the University of Science and Technology Bannu will be led by Dr. Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan.

The appointment of Dr. Ghazala Yasmin as the Vice Chancellor of Women’s University Swabi is a clear indication of gender representation. Dr. Syed Zafar Ilyas has been allocated to the University of Science and Technology Kohat, while Dr. Zahoor-ul-Haq will assume the position at Bacha Khan University, Charsadda.
