ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Qatar has changed school operating hours for government schools because of increasing temperatures and severe weather conditions, which will remain in place from May 3 until June 3.
The new timetable states that educational institutions will commence their operations at 7:00 a.m. The school day will end at different times for different student groups, which includes kindergarteners who leave at 12:00 p.m., primary school students who exit at 12:30 p.m., and students in preparatory and secondary school who depart at 12:45 p.m.
The ministry confirmed that class periods remain unchanged, while the new schedule exists to safeguard students from dangerous afternoon temperatures.
The academic procedures at the school require modified work hours for both teachers and administrative staff members. The school day for staff members starts at 7:00 a.m. and ends at 1:15 p.m.
The new schedule has been established before final exams for the second semester of the 2025–2026 academic year, which will begin on June 4.
