Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz announces scholarships for THESE students

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced that Al-Qadir University will now come under her control, following the recent £190 million Al-Qadir Trust case verdict.

Speaking at an event in Okara, Maryam Nawaz was once again unambiguous about her plans to uplift education in the province, she has announced scholarships for students of Al-Qadir university.

The initiative would henceforth be a government project, targeting students who are destitute; Maryam Nawaz called for unity and harmony in the country, stating, “the country needs unity and not hatred; it requires peace and not unrest”-the previous rules for fanning the flames of agitation and engaging in other forms of violence, repeated the national prejudicial persecuted family, including the alleged corruption charge that led to Nawaz Sharif’s ousting.

She used that opportunity to compare her own incarceration to that of Imran Khan, the former premier who was recently sentenced to 14 years in prison in the £190 million case.

Maryam said that unlike Imran Khan, her and her father’s imprisonment was crudely conducted in the sense that it was full of cameras and they were provided only one meal a day.

Besides, Maryam Nawaz has been vigorously engaged in various initiatives to support education and the youth in Punjab; she has distributed laptops and e-bikes and was working on such projects as the Honhaar Scholarship, which will be awarding scholarships to deserving students throughout the province.
