LAHORE: In a move towards digital development, the Punjab Education Department has taken a significant step forward toward ensuring teacher accountability and presence in schools with the launch of a mobile app.
This innovative tool will allow the authorities to track the location of school teachers, hence ensuring their presence on school premises during the stipulated hours of duty.
The app mainly gathers feedback from school heads to improve the education system. Moreover, the Chief Executive Officers have been empowered to increase the level of their authority through creating amended teacher profiles and permitting temporary transfers.
Operated under the aegis of the Programme Monitoring and Implementation Unit, this mobile app epitomizes the party’s resolve toward improving the quality of education in Punjab.
There is a total of 105,178 education institutions in the province, covering all kinds of private and public schools, from 52,314 and 50,054 schools, respectively initiative has thus taken a very significant step toward ensuring accountability to teachers regarding their attendance and performance.
This will help track the whereabouts of teachers absent from their schools during working hours and allow the eliminating of some of the ghost teachers who mitigate against the education budget in Punjab.
