Punjab orders to close schools due to THIS reason

Punjab plans to reduce school holidays to boost academic days

LAHORE: The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has instructed schools on plots of less than ten marlas to be closed down.

Under the new policy, schools on undersized plots are required to shift to buildings that are at least ten marlas in size or modify their existing structures to accommodate at least ten marlas of land.

School proprietors have been given a two-month grace period, up to November 10, to act. If expansion proves unfeasible, schools must relocate to a new address and report the move to PEF authorities immediately. The foundation will then conduct checks to ensure compliance before issuing formal permission.

Authorities threatened to resort to the courts in case of non-compliance by the schools.
