Sindh govt to suspend ghost teachers from their duties in Sindh

Now Teachers will also wear uniforms under new policy

SINDH: The Sindh Education Department has taken decisive action against “ghost” teachers who have been absent from duty without notice, with 20 such cases identified in the Sharqi district alone.

Many of these teachers have been living abroad for extended periods while still receiving their salaries.

Despite being instructed to provide explanations for their prolonged absence, none of the teachers have responded, prompting the department to terminate their employment.

This move comes as hundreds of schools in Sindh struggle with a shortage of teachers, exacerbating the challenges faced by the education sector.

Furthermore, recent reports have highlighted a scarcity of textbooks in schools, adding to the department’s woes.

By dismissing absentee teachers, the Sindh Education Department aims to address these issues and improve the overall quality of education in the province.-
