RAWALPINDI: 11 Indian-backed Khawarij militants killed in two operations by security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), 11 Khawarij militants belonging to the Indian proxy Fitna-ul-Khawarij were killed in two separate operations in different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on January 8, 2026.
According to the spokesperson, on receiving information, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in North Waziristan district, in which the forces effectively targeted the Khawarij hideout. During the operation, 6 Khawarij were killed in a fierce exchange of fire.
The second operation was conducted in the Kurram district, based on intelligence and jointly, in which 5 Khawarij were killed in an exchange of fire by police and security forces.
Arms and ammunition were also recovered from the possession of the slain Indian-backed Khawarij, who were involved in several terrorist activities, including targeted killings of security forces, law enforcement agencies and innocent civilians.
According to the ISPR, clearance operations are underway to eliminate any further Indian-sponsored foreign presence in the area.
The statement said that in line with the vision of the strategy ‘Determination of Stability’ approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, the security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue their counter-terrorism campaign with full speed and vigor until the complete elimination of foreign-sponsored terrorism.
