A user of X (Twitter), Shreya, said in a post that she was able to diagnose her mother’s disease, which doctors failed to identify for a year and a half, with the help of ChatGPT.
Although artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots are used for many purposes, it is said that they should be avoided for diagnosing diseases.
She approached ChatGPT after unsuccessful treatment for a year and a half, and doctors failed to diagnose the disease.
The woman said that despite all kinds of medical treatments, including homeopathy, allopathy, and others, her mother’s condition was getting worse over time.
The post further stated that “My mother had been facing a continuous cough for a year and a half, we showed her to several doctors, visited major hospitals, tried homeopathy, allopathy and other treatments, but there was no benefit, rather her condition worsened while bleeding started inside the body”.
According to the post, ‘Doctors said that if this continued for another 6 months, her life could be in danger’.
The worried woman then approached ChatGPT and explained her mother’s symptoms in detail.
The AI chatbot suggested several possible reasons, one of which the woman found important, and that was the side effects of blood pressure medications.
When the woman confirmed that her mother was taking blood pressure medications, ChatGPT asked about a specific ingredient in the medication.
The woman confirmed that the medication contained this ingredient and then a doctor changed the woman’s mother’s medication.
According to Shreya, her mother is now recovering. It is not an exaggeration to say that ChatGPT saved her life.
