ISLAMABAD: H.E. Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Russian Federation, welcomed former Russian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Professor Andrey Glebovich Baklanov, at Pakistan House in Moscow.
Professor Baklanov, who teaches at the Department of International Regional Studies at the Higher School of Economics (HSE), led a group of international relations students from Pakistan, Russia, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan.
During the interaction, Ambassador Tirmizi introduced the visiting students to the rich heritage of the Indus Valley Civilization and the historical and cultural depth of Pakistan.
He also highlighted the steadily growing partnership between Pakistan and Russia across multiple sectors, including trade, education, diplomacy, and cultural cooperation.
The Ambassador further briefed the delegation on connectivity projects linking Pakistan and Russia through Central Asian states, underscoring their significance for regional integration and future collaboration.
The session included an engaging Q&A segment, where Ambassador Tirmizi responded to questions related to global politics, foreign policy priorities, current international developments, and the evolving global order.
In recognition of his insightful discussion, Ambassador Tirmizi was also invited to deliver a talk at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow, further strengthening academic and diplomatic engagement between the two sides.
