GILGIT: Gilgit-Baltistan interior minister Shamsul Haq Lone Sunday confirmed that security agencies have arrested the suspect linked to the bus attack in Chilas on December 1 last year.
At least 12 people were killed and 24 injured when unidentified men fired indiscriminately at a passenger bus in the Hudur area of Chilas on December 1, 2023.
Talking to a private media channel, Interior Minister Gilgit-Baltistan said that the arrest of the accused was carried out on the intelligence information received from Jaglot. Shamsul Haq reiterated his commitment to pursue justice after the arrest.
Earlier, Law enforcement agencies released a list of six terrorists believed to be involved in the Chilas bus attack.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Haji Gulbar Khan chaired a high-level security meeting to review the security for the Diamer Bhasha Dam project.
During the meeting, Chief Minister GB directed full-proof security arrangements for foreign nationals working on the dam project. Khan also directed the WAPDA chairman to enhance training and provide modern weapons to improve dam security.
Interior Minister Shamsul Haq emphasized that no compromise would be tolerated regarding the security of the foreign workers involved in the construction of the dam.
