WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has said that he was surprised to see the Iranian people crying at the funeral of Ayatollah Khamenei, because he thought the Iranian people hated their leader.

Donald Trump also said that it is possible that the tears seen at the funeral are not real but are for show.

Speaking to a journalist from the American news website Axios, Donald Trump said that if the United States wanted to, it could have eliminated the Iranian leadership present at the event in a single attack, but this was not done because then there would have been no leadership left for negotiations.

Meanwhile, while addressing the 250th anniversary of the United States, the US President said that the American people will not allow anyone to take away their freedom. America is a country of the bravest and best people in the world, where every citizen enjoys complete religious freedom.

Donald Trump said that America is still a symbol of hope for the world and his government is committed to making the country stronger.

He mentioned the performance of his government and said that extraordinary achievements were achieved during his tenure.

The US President once again took a tough stance on Iran, claiming that we destroyed Iran, while also referring to Venezuela and calling his policies successful.
