'Carry on Jatta' fame Veteran Punjabi comedian Jaswinder Bhalla dies at 65

MOHALI: Veteran Punjabi comedian and actor Jaswinder Bhalla passed away at the age of 65 on Friday at Fortis Hospital, Mohali, leaving fans and the film industry in deep shock and grief.

His cremation will take place on Saturday at Balongi Cremation Ground, where family, friends, colleagues, and admirers are expected to bid him farewell.

Bhalla’s portrayal of Advocate Dhillon in Carry On Jatta was a defining moment in his career, turning him into a household name across Punjab and among Punjabi cinema lovers worldwide.

Known for giving his characters unforgettable catchphrases and an effortless wit, his work resonated with audiences across generations.

His final film appearance was in Shinda Shinda No Papa (2024), alongside Gippy Grewal and Hina Khan, marking the end of a remarkable journey in Punjab.
