Abu Dhabi missile interception caused injuries and fires on Saturday near Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD). Authorities confirmed that falling debris from a ballistic missile interception led to the incident.
Officials said five people were injured. All injured individuals are reported to be of Indian nationality. Their injuries range from minor to moderate.
The Abu Dhabi media office stated that two fires broke out in the KEZAD area. Emergency teams quickly responded and worked to control the situation.
KEZAD is part of AD Ports Group and is an important economic zone in Abu Dhabi. Authorities confirmed that relevant departments are handling the fires caused by the intercepted missile debris.
The Abu Dhabi missile interception comes at a time of rising tensions in the region. Iran has recently warned of serious consequences following alleged attacks on its key infrastructure.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Israel targeted major steel factories, a power plant, and civilian nuclear facilities. He claimed the strikes were coordinated with the United States.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards also issued warnings. They advised workers at sites linked to the US or Israel to leave immediately, raising fears of further escalation.
Authorities in Abu Dhabi continue to monitor the situation closely. Safety measures remain in place as investigations continue into the incident.
