The Electric Bikes Scheme was launched in Balochistan on Wednesday by Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti.
The initiative aims to promote affordable and environmentally friendly transportation across the province. Officials say the program will help citizens with their daily travel needs.
Bikes for Students, Women, and Workers
Under the Electric Bikes Scheme, electric motorcycles will be provided to students, working women, and other citizens.
The bikes will be offered on easy installments so that more people can afford them. The government hopes this step will make travel easier for education, jobs, and other daily activities.
Transparent Balloting Process
According to Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti, the distribution of bikes will be done through a transparent balloting system.
Citizens from different districts of Balochistan will be able to apply online. This process will allow equal participation for people across the province.
Travel Range Suitable for Daily Use
Officials said the electric bikes included in the scheme will have a travel range of around 70 to 100 kilometers on a single charge.
This distance is considered suitable for routine commuting such as going to universities, offices, and markets.
Plan to Reduce Fuel Use
The government says the Electric Bikes Scheme will provide a cheaper travel option for citizens.
It is also expected to reduce fuel consumption and support cleaner transportation in the province.
Possible Next Phase
The chief minister added that the provincial government is also considering introducing electric loaders in the next phase.
These vehicles could support workers and small business owners who need affordable transport for goods and daily work.
