Motorway vehicle fitness checks have been ordered across Pakistan after a deadly accident on the M-9 Motorway. The directive came from Federal Communications Minister Abdul Aleem Khan, who took immediate notice of the tragic incident.

He asked the Inspector General of the National Highways and Motorway Police to launch a full inquiry. He also directed officials to submit a detailed report as soon as possible. The move aims to find the exact cause and prevent future accidents.

At the same time, the minister ordered strict enforcement of vehicle safety rules. He clearly said vehicles with worn-out, weak, or expired tyres must not enter motorways. Therefore, motorway officers must inspect tyres carefully before allowing access.

He stressed that these safety checks must apply to all vehicles. Although commercial vehicles need closer monitoring, private vehicles must also follow the same standards. As a result, officials will now carry out more thorough inspections at entry points.

Moreover, Abdul Aleem Khan instructed authorities to ensure full compliance with national safety regulations. He said proper enforcement can reduce accidents and save lives. He added that negligence in vehicle fitness cannot be tolerated.

The minister expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives in the M-9 Motorway crash. He also offered condolences to the families of the victims. Furthermore, he prayed for patience and strength for those affected by the tragedy.

Officials believe motorway vehicle fitness checks will improve safety on highways. These steps aim to prevent similar incidents in the future. Meanwhile, motorway police have been told to act without delay.

This decision shows the government’s focus on road safety. Authorities hope stricter inspections will ensure safer travel for everyone using Pakistan’s motorways.
