Power banks ban in the flight has been announced by the International Civil Aviation Organization to improve safety during air travel.

Under the new rules, passengers can carry only two power banks. Charging power banks during flights is now not allowed.

The decision came from the aviation authority based in Montreal. These rules are effective immediately.

Why Power banks ban in the flight was introduced

The Power banks ban in the flight focuses on reducing risks from lithium batteries. These batteries can overheat and cause fire in extreme cases.

Power banks are commonly used for charging mobile phones. However, safety concerns have increased due to past incidents.

Previous actions by airlines

Before this global step, some airlines had already applied similar restrictions. The Lufthansa Group and officials in South Korea had tightened rules.

In 2025, a fire incident occurred on a plane operated by Air Busan. This raised serious concerns about battery safety onboard.

What to expect next

The Power banks ban in the flight is likely to be adopted by many countries. Aviation regulators around the world are expected to follow these guidelines.

The Federal Aviation Administration has not yet responded to the new rules.

Experts believe airlines will implement these changes soon to ensure passenger safety.
